Holistic Mental Health Care for Kids and Teens

Thoughtful care for complex kids.

At Montana Whole Health, we provide thoughtful, integrative mental health care for children and adolescents—care that looks beyond symptoms and supports the whole person.

Mental health is shaped by far more than emotions alone. For many children and teens, struggles with anxiety, mood, attention, or behavior are influenced by genetics, neurobiology, physical health, sleep, stress, nutrition, family dynamics, and the demands of school and daily life. Thoughtful care means taking the time to understand how these factors interact for each child. By bringing the full picture together, we help kids and teens feel more balanced, resilient, and supported—not just now, but over time.

Holistic mental healthcare is a comprehensive approach that treats the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just focusing on specific symptoms or a clinical diagnosis. It is based on the principle that mental well-being is deeply interconnected with physical health, lifestyle, family support, and social relationships.

There may be more to the story than you've been told.

We find the root cause.

We look at the whole picture — nutrition, gut health, hormones, genetics, sleep, stress, and more — to understand why your child is struggling.

Natural, Individualized Treatment

No one-size-fits-all protocol. We build a customized plan using nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle support, targeted supplementation, and even medications if necessary.

Safe, Gentle, Effective

Our approach prioritizes therapies with the fewest side effects. We work alongside your child's existing care team when needed.

What is Holistic Mental Health Care?

Naturopathic medicine addresses the many factors that affect our mental health.

What makes our approach different

Whole-person focused
Many families come to us after trying to manage symptoms without lasting improvement. Rather than focusing only on anxiety, attention, or behavior, we take time to understand the whole child—body, mind, emotions, family, and environment. This thoughtful approach allows care to be tailored to each child’s unique needs and supports meaningful, sustainable progress.

Integrative, not either-or
We blend conventional medical care with evidence-based natural medicine. Medication, when appropriate, is combined with nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, herbal medicine, counseling, parenting tips, classroom modifications, and functional evaluation to support long-term success.

Collaborative by design
We work alongside mental health counselors, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, pediatricians, psychologists, teachers, school counselors and administrators. You don’t have to coordinate everything alone.

Focused on long-term wellbeing
The goal isn’t just symptom control—it’s helping children and teens build emotional regulation, confidence, and sustainable mental health. Care is designed to support growth over time, so kids are better equipped to navigate stress, relationships, and life transitions as they mature.

Here’s what to expect:

A Deep Dive Intake

Your first visit is 45-60 minutes. We listen. We ask about everything — diet, sleep, gut health, family history, school, stress, genetics. This is medicine that takes time.

Comprehensive Testing (When Needed)

We offer lab testing that goes beyond standard bloodwork — testing for nutrient deficiencies, neurotransmitter levels, gut health, mitochondrial function, MTHFR/SNP genetic profiles, and more — to uncover hidden contributors to your child's mental health.

A Personalized Plan

You leave with a clear, actionable care plan built specifically for your child. No guesswork, no generic protocols.

Ongoing Partnership

We monitor progress, adjust the plan, and stay in your corner as your child improves. Our practice is collaborative by design, and we welcome input from your child's counselor, teacher, psychiatrist and neuropsychologist.
