Claire Michelson, ND
Dr. Claire Michelson specializes in pediatrics, adolescent health, comprehensive family care, and reproductive and hormonal health. Growing up in Missoula, she was shaped by supportive family, friends, and community groups that encouraged open and honest conversations about health, identity, and well-being. These early experiences inspired her to create that same sense of safety and empowerment for her patients today. She earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Montana with bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Dr. Michelson has a passion for helping children and teens feel comfortable in a medical setting and for partnering with families to create care plans that are supportive, practical, and holistic. She has special interests in integrative mental health as well as reproductive and hormonal health, and provides care through a trauma-informed lens. She strives to practice in a body-positive, weight-neutral, and inclusive way, creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, cultures, genders, and body types.
Dr. Michelson holds advanced certification in Holistic Pelvic Care™, a gentle pelvic floor therapy developed by women’s health physical therapist Tami Lynn Kent. This body-centered approach recognizes the pelvis as both a physical and emotional center, integrating gentle internal pelvic floor work, breathwork, and nervous system support to help release tension, restore balance, and support healing. Care may benefit those experiencing pelvic pain or tension, postpartum changes, painful periods, or a sense of disconnection within the pelvic region.
Dr. Michelson believes you’re never too young (or too grown up) to learn about your body and feel confident in your health and wellness goals. She is honored to be a trusted resource for her patients and community. In her free time, you might find Dr. Michelson trekking up a mountain trail with her dog Oakley, wading into a cold river with a fly rod in hand, or discovering new flavors in the kitchen and around Missoula with her partner Kate.
