Montana Whole Health provides pediatric care for children and adolescents, with a thoughtful, integrative approach focused on long-term health and prevention.
Here at Montana Whole Health we offer a unique approach solving your child’s health problems.
We believe healthcare should be more than simply treating symptoms. By taking time to listen carefully, we can better understand the underlying causes and help each child truly flourish
Montana Whole Health was founded by Dr. Erika Krumbeck, ND, FABNP, the founder of naturopathicpediatrics.com, and is now home to a collaborative team providing pediatric care in Missoula. Montana Whole Health is the only clinic in Montana with three naturopathic doctors specializing in pediatrics. All three providers have advanced training in pediatrics, including neonatal care, childhood development and pediatric mental health care.
At Montana Whole Health we offer safe, evidence-based treatment options that may include lifestyle, nutrition, herbs, supplements, and medications when appropriate. Our physicians collaborate to create individualized plans that support both short-term needs and long-term health. Your physicians collaborate to provide individualized treatment plans that work for your child and your family.
How families use our care
Families work with Montana Whole Health in different ways, depending on their needs. Some families choose us as their child’s primary care home, while others work with us for specialty or adjunctive naturopathic care alongside an existing pediatrician. Both options are welcome.
Finding the root cause of health & behavior issues.
At Montana Whole Health we work with families who are dealing with complex health or behavioral issues. We offer a safe, gentle approach – personalizing treatment in collaboration with you and your child. We believe that one-size-fits-all treatment is rarely effective, and can sometimes lead to more problems down the road.
We work hard to find the true underlying cause of your child’s medical problem. We work in cooperation with medical specialists to help manage referrals, medications, supplements and natural treatment options. Most importantly, we also take time to explain your child’s diagnosis and will help you navigate the complex medical system.

Primary Care at Montana Whole Health
In Montana, naturopathic physicians are licensed primary care providers for children.
Here at Montana Whole Health we typically spend 40-50 minutes with families for well child visits, focusing on optimizing health for children and preventing the development of chronic disease as they grow to adulthood. We discuss nutrition with each family, and if necessary custom tailor a diet that is right for the growing child.
We know that the foundation of good health begins in childhood, and that the best gift you could give your children is a lifetime of wellness. At these visits we will discuss nutrition, how to prevent common illnesses, developmental milestones, and what to expect in the months or year to come. Bring your questions to these visits and we will discuss your concerns in depth.
Here at Montana Whole Health we are passionate about prevention – this includes vaccine-preventable diseases. At your child’s wellness visits you will have plenty of time to thoroughly discuss vaccines in a non-judgmental, open environment. We also offer vaccines for families on an alternate or delayed schedule if the family chooses to do so. We administer immunizations in a comfortable, compassionate environment to minimize trauma to the child. For more information (including how we use the “Buzzy” to limit pain) see our Vaccines page.
At Montana Whole Health we plan office visits according to the American Academy of Pediatrics well-child checkup schedule: newborn, 3-7 days of life, 2 weeks, 2, 4, 6, 9 months for the first year, then 12, 15, 18 months for the 2nd year of life. Annual visits thereafter.
Why choose a naturopathic physician?
Naturopathic physicians in the state of Montana are considered primary care providers and can perform Well Child Exams, order all lab work and imaging, and make referrals to specialists just like any other conventional pediatrician.
Well child visits at a naturopathic physician’s office typically go beyond what you would experience at a conventional physician’s office. Naturopathic medicine focuses on prevention, patient education, and treatment of common ailments using natural methods rather than synthetic medications. If you do need a synthetic medication we can do that too, but we will always prioritize the safest, most natural option first.
What if my child gets _____________ (an ear infection, cold, sinus infection, stomachache)?
Once established at Montana Whole Health, children have access to same-day or next-day appointments for acute concerns such as ear infections, illnesses, injuries, and rashes.
